Brief Introduction
  Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute ( BMHRI ) was established in 1958. In more than 40 years, BMHRI, originally a state-owned first-class research institute directly under the Ministry of Machinery Industry, has developed into a science and technology oriented modern enterprise with separate legal entity certification and registered  capital  of 51.51 million yuan . With 430employees, including 25professor senior engineers ，135 senior engineers and 120engineers,  BMHRI is a member of China National Machinery & Equipment Corp. (Group) , which is a large sized enterprise directly under the Central Working Commission for Enterprises.
  With advanced production and testing facilities and powerful research and development human resources, BMHRI has completed since its establishment one thousand-plus scientific research and engineering projects, over one hundred of which are awarded scientific and technological achievement prizes of state, ministerial or provincial level. The main businesses of BMHRI cover:
    ● Overall planning, design and project contracting of in-enterprise material flow system, automated high-rise warehouses, distribution centers, parking place, etc.;
    ● Building of various aerial ropeways and recreation facilities such as passenger ropeway, tourist ropeway, surface lift, funicular, toboggan run, aerial rope crossing;
    ●  Overall planning, design and project contracting of material handling systems for ports, open mines, stockyard, grain garage, plants and garbage disposing;
    ● Research and development of various materials handling equipment and their components, including lifting appliances, conveyors, loading/unloading machinery, industrial trucks, warehousing equipment, hydraulic equipment, etc.;
  The China National Material Handling Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre and the China National Passenger Aerial Ropeway Safety Supervision and Inspection Centre , which are approved by the relevant State Ministries and Commissions, are set up in the Institute. BMHRI is the resident unit of Material Handling Institution of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the National Standardization Technical Committee for Lifting Appliances, and a deputy director unit of the China Heavy Machinery Society. All these contribute to BMHRI’s unrivalled position and unique influence in the Chinese material handling industry.
  BMHRI has Certificate of Engineering Design (Class A), Certificate of Approval for project contractor (Class A), Certificate of Approval for Engineering Consultant (Class A) and Certificate of Project Supervision (Class B). The main projects completed by the institute includes150-plus aerial ropeways, 90-plus warehousing system and 30-plus other material handling systems. The institute has also developed more than 80 kinds of standard hoisting and conveying products and is in charge of drafting over 200 China national and industry standards.
